In various points you will see the Predator's aiming reticule(s) approaching you, and the relevant music/sound. When you pick up a new weapon you use it till you run out of ammo for it. You can find a nice variety of weapons with limited ammo each. Annoying if you have played almost any other shoot'em up, but you get used to it if you love the movie. You can move left and right and diagonally, but not directly up or down. I say try because you can't move in all directions. You shoot enemy soldiers/guerillas, you throw grenades and try to avoid getting hit. You mostly move from left to right for every level. Not that it was THAT difficult to hit the enemies, but you needed a lot of practice to get good at that part. There was no easy way to aim exactly where you wanted to shoot. The man problem was the shooting mechanic.
If you were a fan of the movie, this was even better. The game shows its 8-bit roots, not only in terms of graphics, but mainly gameplay.ĭon't get me wrong, the game in 1987 looked fine for a 16-bit game, and obviously for an 8-bit game. A side scrolling shoot'em up, based on the first and only at the time, Predator movie.
